Ascentiqology is broken down into phases of delivery which support a consistent conversation with our clients about what we do and how we do it.
Measuring
Common understanding during the discovery phase
establishes a common understanding of beginning the client engagement:
Context and logistics: who, what, when, where, how and why?
Risk and business priority/value: what should be in scope and what is possible?
Scope: what actions will we undertake to mitigate the risks and address the high-priority items?
We will develop this understanding into the activities we will undertake to address the client need.
Measuring is supported by the proposal and/or statement of work as an input – you will have visibility of what we have agreed to provide the customer, and this will inform your approach.
During Defining, you will playback our agreement with the client and gain a deeper understanding of what that means in this particular engagement so that you can proceed with helping the client.
Defining

Having established a deeper understanding, and planned how we will engage, we move to Defining.
We set out:
What we intend to do: our actions should agree with what we said we will do – if there are differences now that you have greater visibility of detail, these should be played back, along with any impacts to what we said we would do
Our approach to doing it: in enough detail to explain why we are taking these specific actions and form the basis for a plan
The expected benefits of our approach, aligning clearly our actions with the client need.
This establishes a clear, agreed basis for planning.
Method
At this stage, we break down the activities agreed in defining, translating the approach, activities and deliverables into a realistic schedule, resources, costs and dependencies, so that we can manage the delivery of our services to the client.
